Dear Sister and Brothers
My name is William “Bill” Beattie I have been at TTC as a bus operator since 2005 at Malvern Garage and I’m running for Shop Steward. In my spare time I enjoy family , nice cars and volunteering for rep football. I have been coaching football for 30 years both high school and rep. During my time in football I have held various positions from league President of the largest rep football league in Canada. Have sat on discipline boards, acted as league liaison officers for different leagues. Volunteering is very rewarding, giving back to my community and working with at risk young men and women to help them achieve their goals on and off the football field. I believe these skills will help navigate the challenges we may face together in the workplace. I believe in working together in a team environment as in my experience brings out the best in everyone.
In my years at TTC, I have been blessed to have had some great shop stewards. I feel my strong leadership and communication skills make me the best candidate to lead Malvern as your next Shop Steward. I am running for this position because I believe the only way to make change or have a positive impact is to be involved and to give the members at Malvern strong representation and a strong voice in the workplace, that you deserve. I can be a sounding board for advice or an ear to talk. If I do not have the answers, I will do everything in my power to get you the right answer. I want to help make Malvern a safe work environment for everyone. I am a proud member of ATU local 113 and together we can do great things.
In Solidarity
